The Jenna Druck Foundation’s Young Women’s Leadership Program was a conference that gives young women the chance to look at different opportunities that are available to them. There was a total of about 500 young women that attended workshops with top woman speakers and role models from San Diego. We were chosen to present two workshops to show these girls about robotics, brainstorming, and group problem solving. There were about 50 girls in our workshops. |
| What we decided to do was have these girls have a hands on experience with the robots. Their job was to create a two foot long bridge that could hold one of our three pound robots driving across it. All they could use was yarn, blue tape, newspaper, scissors, and measuring tape. Besides the time limit of 35 minutes they were on their own. This process was to teach them to be able to work in a group, brainstorm, and use their creativity. | ![]() |
