Sharing FIRST in the classroom is an important part of our mission. We show the kids the bot, and explain how robots are built. We also provide them with information on how to start their own team. We pay close attention to all the girls that seem interested because we want to make sure that as many girls as possible are given the opportunity to explore engineering. We are very pink, which makes us appealing to young girls.

Following our visit, the students often write us letters with additional questions. We really have a great time answering them. Sharing FIRST is so important to us that we even bring along kids from the FLL team we work with, Cold Fusion, to share Lego robots as well. |
